SESoS/WDES 2020 will be virtual
Dear author,
We would like to announce that the ICSA 2020 is confirmed to happen on November 2-6, 2020, but it has been changed to a virtual format.
For more details, please refer to the message from Professor Eduardo Almeida, ICSA 2020 General Chair, available at: http://icsa-conferences.org/2020/attending/message/index.html
SESoS/WDES 2020 is hence confirmed to happen on November 2, 2020 also in a virtual format.
Papers accepted to SESoS/WDES 2020 are already published at IEEEXplore as part of the 2020 IEEE International Conference on Software Architecture Companion Proceedings:

We will contact you again in the next weeks about participation details provided by the ICSA 2020 Organizing Committee, as well as some adjustments to be made in the SESoS/WDES 2020 program.
We will also share with you any new information provided by the ICSA 2020 Organizing Committee.
Best regards.
New date of SESoS/WDES 2020

Presentation
SESoS/WDES 2020 is the joint of the 8th edition of the International Workshop on Software Engineering for Systems-of-Systems (SESoS) and the 14th edition of the Workshop on Distributed Software Development, Software Ecosystems and Systems-of-Systems (WDES), co-located with the 2020 IEEE International Conference on Software Architecture (ICSA) to be held in Salvador, Brazil. It intends to be a forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and experiences, analyze research and development issues, discuss promising solutions, and propose theoretical foundations for development and evolution of complex systems, inspiring visions for the future of Software Architecture for Systems-of-Systems (SoS), software ecosystems (SECO), and distributed software development (DSD).
SoS have become increasingly complex and frequently used in highly distributed, dynamic, and open environments. SoS refer to evolving software systems in which constituent systems (themselves systems in their own right) cooperatively work to fulfill specific, complex missions, facing Software Architecture researchers and practitioners with substantial challenges. SECO have also become an important research topic, addressing social issues along with technical aspects of software architectures. SoS and SECO are closely related and naturally distributed in development teams along with the inherent difficulties of coordination and communication. In this scenario, DSD deals with distributed resources to reduce cost and reach new IT markets. Problems and challenges in software architectures are amplified and become more critical when SoS, SECO, and DSD need to be analyzed together.
The main goal of SESoS/WDES 2020 is discussing research in SoS, SECO, and DSD as well as promoting interaction and integration among them, which are closely related to some extent, but sometimes they are individually matter of research to support the development and evolution of complex software systems. The workshop also focuses on discussing and establishing the theoretical foundations for architecting complex software systems towards paving the way for a more structured community effort and outlining research joint agenda for these topics.
